There has been a dramatic rise in coworking spaces across the globe during the past ten years. Data from Statista estimates that the number of people working in coworking spaces worldwide is predicted to grow to 2.28 million in 2020 – almost 128 times higher than it was a decade ago! So how do you find the best coworking option for your business?

Before deciding on the best coworking space for you, it’s important to understand what exactly you want from a membership. Be sure to ask the following questions before you commit to a decision:

  1. Can I see a tenant list?– Can you identify any businesses or freelancers that you could collaborate with to grow your business? Could other tenants become potential clients? Does the tenant mix interest you and are these businesses likely to fit your own business ethos and style?
  2. How do people get to your workspace? – is the location convenient for you, your employees and your clients? Is there good public transport and affordable parking options?
  3. What’s happening beside work?– Is there an in-house gym to improve your staff’s wellbeing? What does the events programme look like? Could being in this space benefit you socially and professionally and help your staff collaborate and feel part of something much bigger?
  4. What package is right for me? – Think about how often you will use the space. Will you be there part time or full time?  Do you want to use the same desk every visit or are you happy to move around the space? Do you feel your work requires privacy and therefore a private office?   Do you need to access meeting rooms for meetings? Will you need to bring in guests regularly? Answers to all these questions will help you identify the right package for you.
  5. Can I have a tour? –it’s important to get a feel for the space and meet the community hosts before committing to a membership, so take the time to explore your options.
