At Origin Workspace, we love seeing businesses evolve, and Tom’s journey is a perfect example of how ambition, community, and the right environment can support success.
We first welcomed Tom to Origin Workspace in 2023, as a dedicated desk member. At the time, he was a one-man team with a vision to scale his tech start-up, Spydr. But Tom is what we like to call a man of many talents, alongside his digital agency, he also runs a photography and videography business and a clothing brand based in Cornwall.
From a Dedicated Desk to a shared office.
Before expanding his business, Tom moved from a dedicated desk to a shared office with another Origin-based company, creating a private space for both to grow. It’s been incredible to watch both businesses flourish, now thriving in their own offices, each with a team they’ve built from the ground up.
What started as a solo venture with a dedicated desk has grown into a thriving team of seven. What is Spydr?
Spydr specialises in building innovative platforms for a wide variety of clients from FTSEs to local SMBs. The team are focused on the integration of AI, through a ‘human in the loop’ approach to create efficiencies and help clients explore new possibilities. Spydr’s modern tech-stack allow them to deliver projects faster and reduce ongoing running costs. The Spydr team work as an extension of their clients by listening, understanding, and delivering impactful solutions tailored to their client needs.
When we asked Tom if Origin Workspace had played a role in his growth, his answer was a resounding yes. For small businesses, leveraging the community and engaging in networking events can be game-changing, and Tom and his team have fully embraced this.
Beyond growing his own business, Tom and the team have also given back to the community. Last year, Spydr Digital supported Access Sport, a Bristol-based charity that Origin Workspace is proud to work with.
