Book a meeting room

We thought it was about time you met the Origin Workspace Bristol team, who have kept such a smooth ship running over the past few months by supporting our founding tenants and welcoming in a host of newbies. It’s testament to their hard work and enthusiasm for the project that we’re already at over 80% capacity before having even launched phase 1 of our epic renovation at 40 Berkeley Square.

We hope you’ll be popping in to meet everyone soon, either by attending our networking events or taking a look round the office spaces available for start-ups right through to larger-scale businesses. In the meantime, we’ll leave our team to introduce themselves…

Joanne Lunt, Community host

What is your day-to-day role?

I’m here to make members feel at home. I do a multitude of things from helping with hosting events to answering any questions or queries, and generally looking to promote what Origin is all about when it comes to wellness and supporting a great atmosphere and environment.

What’s your favourite thing about working in Bristol?

With lots going on in the city, I love the feeling that there are different opportunities open to me – both on a professional level and having the chance to meet new people.

What is your favourite part of the working day?

My 11am coffee! It’s when I get to go into the kitchen and catch up with different members, find out how their day is going, have a chat and see if they need anything.

One thing that instantly cheers you up?

Exercise – taking the time to get active and blasting a workout.

Tell us one fact about you…

I love to ski and snowboard and get out into mountains in the fresh air. I’m also a pianist.

Hebe Dickins, Community Host

What is your day-to-day role?

A medley of things… organising member ‘treats’, pointing out the best wild garlic foraging spots on Brandon Hill, making copious trips up and down the stairs. My main raison d’être is making sure members are suitably chuffed with their lot.

What’s your favourite thing about working in Bristol?

The location… being a stone’s throw away from Brandon Hill, cycling to work is a joy (albeit a hilly one) and I’m enjoying the enthusiastic ping-pong culture here.

What is your favourite part of the working day?

My days are pretty varied but it’s great being surrounded by such an interesting array of people and the buzz that creates. I particularly like brainstorming wellness events and welcoming newbies.

One thing that instantly cheers you up?

Happy members, fruit deliveries and getting to the end of my to-do list (boring but true).

Tell us one fact about you…

I teach yoga.

Amy Parsons, Office Administrator

What is your day-to-day role?

I’m here to support all the behind the scenes stuff essentially, from office and facilities-based administration to health and safety, and making sure the day to day running of the building works. I also help with any events.

What’s your favourite thing about working in Bristol?

It’s a big city but everything is really accessible. Working on the triangle, especially, everything is so close. And I love having Brandon Hill right on our door step.

What is your favourite part of the working day?

My job is so varied, every day is different. That’s what I like about it.

One thing that instantly cheers you up?

I love punk music. Whether that’s seeing it live or just listening to my favourite tunes whilst out and about.

Tell us one fact about you…

I really enjoy cooking vegan food, Japanese in particular.

Gemma Menear, Marketing & Events Manager

What is your day-to-day role?

I have the fun job of making sure everyone knows about our great space and all the good things happening. I love a good event, so luckily they put me in charge of making the events programme happen here too!

What’s your favourite thing about working in Bristol?

The buzz! There’s so much going on in Bristol from events and music to great food… why would I ever want to be anywhere else?

What is your favourite part of the working day?

Lunch time… and not just because I’m always thinking about food! That’s when our members temporarily come out of ‘work-mode’ and mingle! I love seeing everyone come together in the lounge or on the terrace to have a good chat and get to know each other.

One thing that instantly cheers you up?

Hands down chocolate…. Or my dog, who happens to be a Chocolate Lab! ?

Tell us one fact about you…

Here’s a bonus fact (because now you know I have a Chocolate Lab); I’m an intermediate level tap dancer!

Caroline Hamilton, Business Manager

What is your day-to-day role?

I have the privilege of showing people around and being the first point of contact when they register interest in becoming a member. I also direct people to where they can be working and deal with the admin around booking members in.

What’s your favourite thing about working in Bristol?

I love how quirky and green every thing is. You’ve got the best parts of living in a city but at the same time it doesn’t feel industrial. I love my walk in everyday and then I get to arrive at beautiful Berkeley Square.

What is your favourite part of the working day?

I love seeing people’s faces when they get to the roof terrace, and can feel them getting excited about the possibility of working here. I love the space and enjoy showing it off.

One thing that instantly cheers you up?

Someone new showing interest in the space. I never get bored of checking my emails and seeing that someone has heard about what we’re doing from a friend or read something somewhere and would like to come in to see for themselves.

Tell us one fact about you…

I can do Fire Poi.
